Angela Fraser | Digital Textile Design

I currently teach Digital Textile Design in the School of Art and Design at Auckland University of Technology (AUT), New Zealand. I also teach short courses on Digital Textile Design in conjunction with the Textile and Design Laboratory (T+DL) www.tdl.aut.ac.nz

My current research relates to the teaching and learning of Digital Print for textiles. I am interested in the impact of technology on the design process as well as the changing aesthetic that results from digital design and digital printing.

In 2010 I began creating a series of learning videos for teaching Digital Print at AUT. I am currently refining these and working towards making them available online for a wider audience.

I continue to add to the online information resource and image database: Patterns of Identity: Textiles in Aotearoa (POI) www.textiles.org.nz POI has been online since 1999 and provides an archive of New Zealand textiles with a focus on print.

My repeating patterns are created from a combination of original photographs and hand drawn images with Adobe Photoshop.

Some of these designs are available for purchase through my shop on Spoonflower www.spoonflower.com/profiles/angelfraser as well as at my Zazzle Store www.zazzle.com/angelfraser*
